XXIX - Edition 2025
SIBPA - Società Italiana di Biofisica Pura e Applicata
IVSLA - Istituto Veneto di Scienze Lettere ed Arti
The Società Italiana di Biofisica Pura e Applicata (SIBPA) and the Istituto Veneto di Scienze Lettere e Arti (IVSLA), promote the
XXIX SCHOOL OF PURE AND APPLIED BIOPHYSICS
Biomimetic models for exploring membrane biophysical
properties in health and disease
Venice, Italy - January 27-31 2025
Topic
The school focuses on membrane remodeling and trafficking, spanning different models of eukaryotic (plasma) membranes, ranging from supported lipid bilayers, to small/large unilamellar vesicles, giant plasma membrane vesicles and cell membranes of living cells (including 2D and 3D cell lines).
Attendees will be introduced to a variety of techniques suitable for studying the structural and chemo-mechanical properties of lipid/protein nanodomains and their dynamic remodeling with high spatial and temporal resolution, correlated with cell functions.
